Prepaid Calling Card

In today’s economy everyone is looking for a way to save money and making international and long distance phone calls are not always cheap. You can use a prepaid calling card and save hundreds of dollars a year and still get a great service. A prepaid calling card can be use from anywhere on any phone. This is great when traveling on vacation or budgeting for your kids that is in college and lives away from home. The first prepaid calling card was invented back in the 70’s in Italy and since then it is now worldwide.

There are many benefits for using a prepaid calling card to make international and long distance phone calls. However, choosing an ideal and reliable calling card company will make the difference between big savings and no savings. One of the best ways to find your prepaid calling cards is on the Internet. Let me share with you a few tips on how to find a good provider.

First, when choosing a reliable calling card company on the Internet, you should always check the company’s background. You should be able to find an “About Us” or “Company Info” link that will give you a biography of the company. Better yet look for a toll free number and call to ask about rates or any other questions.

Watch out for calling card rates that have a different rate per minute when using a mobile phone verse a land line. Ask the company or read the fine print. Some will even charge you for dialing to a mobile number 300% more than their advertised minute rate. This is why it is important to do your homework and shop around for the most reliable company for the service you need.

Luckily there are calling cards that are designed solely for calling a mobile number which offers consumers much more reasonable call per minute rates. Most reputable companies will have these cards in their product line up with easy to find details and information.

Some companies even offer free trial minutes and others offer 100% guarantees. So keep an eye out for them as they are usually the reputable providers on the Internet. They will stand behind what they say and you in return will not have to worry about hidden fees.

If you know you’ll be talking for a long time then buy a card with the lowest call per minute rate. Just finish that card up in one sitting and you’ll completely skip any fees from eating the value of your calling card. Otherwise maintenance fees will continue to decrease the value of your card down to zero after the first use.

On the other hand cards without fees generally cost a little more per minute. However, you have the convenience of using one whenever without worrying about your card’s balance. And the call per minute rates is still way cheaper than paying for a phone bill. So shop online and find the card and company that is right for you and your needs.

It costs Rs. 2.85/minute to call the United States from Pakistan on a Mobilink or Telenor cell phone. That’s a little less than 5 cents a minute, no activation, connection or weekly fees whatsoever.

Further, if your contacts in Pakistan have a Magic Jack with a US phone number, you can call them for free using the anytime minutes from any US cell phone plan.

I’ve used callingcards.com, nobel.com and a host of other card providers but now I don’t use any of them. It’s very easy to send a text message from my email to the phone of my contact in Pakistan and they are able to call me at minimum expense direct from their cell phones. Or I call their Magic Jack.
